To celebrate International Women’s Day, we asked our team for a snapshot of their thoughts on women and the workplace. Here’s what they had to say!
“As a young woman early in her career, I’ve learnt women working is the norm. However, women getting the recognition for their work is not. Being surrounded by strong, successful and driven women daily is what inspires me to push for more, and working for a business that recognises and rewards this is a delight. #balanceforbetter
“Working hard and seeing the financial results makes me feel like a powerful independent women.”
“Working for a business like Success, I treat my desk like my own business and have full autonomy on liaising with my clients and managing my candidates with my own unique approach. This makes me feel independent and like my own boss (within reason!) and I come to work every day feeling like I am in charge of my own destiny.”
“It’s a great motivation and sense of achievement as a young female working in a small business knowing I am able to share my skills, knowledge, thoughts and opinions across all levels of the business helping others, which in turn drives the Success of the business.” #powertowomen #internationalwomensday #balanceforbetter
“Working mums are multitaskers with impeccable time management skills, an abundance of patience with the ability to wear multiple hats and remain flexible in all that they do. All while being an important role model to the next generation. They make excellent employees and those businesses who embrace the working mother will be the winners, reaping the benefits of having this talent in their organisation. We must embrace the working mother, and flexible working for all as we enter a new area of employment.” #balanceforbetter #flexappeal #flexible working #workingmums
Here’s to strong women
May we know them
May we be them
May we raise them
“Working in recruitment, I have the privilege of meeting many inspiring women who are ambitious, hungry and, more than ever, being employed in positions of power. I feel in my role I have the opportunity to encourage and motivate women to be the best they can!” #balanceforbetter
“Being a working mum, even in the 21st century, is challenging and to maintain a work/life balance is crucial. At Success, I have been fortunate to build a career through a supportive MD who has offered flexibility in the workplace. Having two girls, it’s important for them to appreciate it’s possible to do both and develop a strong ethic that you have to work hard in life for the things you want.”
“Being a working mum in the fashion industry used to mean choosing between having a career and a family, and it’s a real pleasure to see change coming into the industry with women empowering each other.”
“Success has been way ahead of the curve on this trend, and I feel proud to work for a company that is committed to supporting equality for all in the workplace.”
Message from Joint Managing Director, Deepak Saluja, Success Appointments & Success Digital
Today is the day when women are recognised for their achievements without regard for divisions, be they national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. This ethos stands strong in our company, and we continue to advocate it from the bottom up. Therefore, it gives me great pride and pleasure to see our business embracing these key values, with 80% of our staff now female and 88% of our management team women.
We nurture and develop all our staff irrespective of gender or race, and empower our brightest talent to make key decisions and drive our business forward. We have a clear objective to bolster our board of directors in the future with the finest female talent, as the business grows and reaches new milestones, which will hopefully result in more women taking their seat at the top level. As Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai eloquently puts it: “We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back.”
Our business is stepping up to positively impact gender equality and provide a place of belonging and inclusion for our employees. I’m truly delighted to see positive comments made by our great team in our company message on International Women’s Day.
