Changing jobs or careers is never an easy move and that nervous feeling in the pit of your stomach doesn’t help the process. No interview will ever go the way you planned but there are definitely a few tips that will help make the process run a lot smoother.
- Knowing your competition and understanding your industry will always give you greater insight and a lot more confidence when selling yourself to the interviewer. Show that your research has been done.
- You will always be able to relay your skills from one role to the next, it is very important that you show your worth and how you can add value to any company.
- Be inquisitive and quiz your interviewer. Demonstrate that you have really given a thought to the kind of questions you would like to ask and end the meeting leaving the interviewer with a great impression of yourself as a potential candidate for the job.
- First impressions are always key. The way you portray yourself says a lot about the kind of person you will be as an employee. It’s important to speak clearly and explain yourself well. Although we don’t like to admit it, we are always judged on the way we look. Being smart and presentable goes a long way.
I do believe these points will contribute to long term success and definitely put you head and shoulders above the rest.
